I yearn for the day I see something pop up in my feed from Rare that isn't just murmurs from the past. You have something great and I believe this studio can still make something amazing despite it's shortcomings. I would be greatly grateful if the folks at Rare saw this message. If they do... After Perfect Dark's revival and RareWare's newest IP have recently been cancelled despite fan anticipation, this anniversary hits especially hard... But not in a good way. Most of Rare's old guard have jumped ship for brighter pastures. The few still working there have little to show beyond workplace rewards, preaches of inclusivity and... This.
Games lately have been made to cater to the masses. So the games dont feel as deep, as specifically going for a certain goal.

I hope this is a lesson to the industry to not hype up the gamers of what could've been and ultimately say "nevermind" and act like we never still wanted what was brought to our attention. Microsoft still owns the IP, so I would hope we can see it through the PC & tenth gen Xbox. Never say "never", right?
Rest in peace, Perfect Dark. Zero was an unfinished and embarrassing mess and the sequel was axed by Microsoft after many troubled years in development hell. You were too good for this world, Joanna Dark. Perfect Dark 1 will always be one of best and shine on forever. Pour one out for Agent Dark.
I remembering pre-ordering an N64 copy of Perfect Dark, the first I ever heard of pre-ordering (possibly b/c its predecessor 007 Goldeneye 64 was so popular). I had to go to the store, pay them $5 and I recieved one of the reserve tickets of the game. Nowadays why would you pre-order, you don't have to call stores all over town to find a copy.
The first Perfect Dark was great, the second one was dull, the achievements indicated they only cared about the online multiplayer. I was curious how the upcoming Perfect Dark would be, but I guess the best word to describe it now is "non-existant."
